The rankings typically don’t lie, especially when it’s a democratic process and ‘the people’ make the final vote.

Such is the case for an entertaining and intuitive poll over at Boston.com, where they’ve created a Peoples Choice vote to determine the public’s top 10 mountain resorts. Check it out, and see where your favorite resorts stack up in the field of 57 –yes, 57 registered resorts in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

It gets better. Your selected rankings will help them determine first-round seeding for an upcoming March Madness-style tournament.

There aren’t any dates for when this tourney starts, but it will be interesting to see how it turns out –not to mention where the majority of the voters are based, e.g. Boston. [Might skew the results a little, but still entertaining nonetheless.]

In the end, this hybrid Peoples Choice-March Madness poll aims to find the overall favorite. At the time of post, here’s the running tally of the top 20… Maine has a steady lead, with Vermont and New Hampshire doing their best to keep up.

Let it snow…
