JazzLab at Burlington Discover Jazz Festival

Featuring: Snarky Puppy & Lucy Woodward Performing “Blow”

JazzLab is an audio exhibit in an art gallery, which aims to showcase the artistic and technical processes that occur during a studio recording session.

Three groups were invited to perform in front of a live audience: Snarky Puppy, Barika and a Burlington/New Orleans hybrid group.

Tank Studio created a pop-up recording studio during Jazz Fest on the second floor of the BCA Center, formerly known as the Firehouse Gallery.

The 10-day Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, now in its 29th year, presents a diverse array of internationally known artists, along with local and regional musicians, at ticketed and free events throughout Burlington, Vermont. The nonprofit Festival is produced by the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in association with Burlington City Arts and is supported by a devoted sponsor base.

Cortex documented the event through video, photography and a live webcast of each band’s studio performance. This segment is part of the director’s cut from the live webcast.
