The downhill course at this year’s Crankworx Canadian Open Downhill was fast, technical and a bit sloppy.

Doing nothing more than fueling the madness on Heckler’s Rock, the weather was a constant variable all week in Whistler for perhaps the biggest mountain bike festival on the calendar.

Showcasing the little room for error that each rider faced along the course, this video courtesy of Crankworx features the top finishers for both men and women. Vancouver Island’s Steve Smith kept the Canadian Open Downhill title on home soil by dominating the notoriously technical course to take first place with a time of 3:00.01, and Rachel Atherton (GBR) had the fastest time for the women.
