After watching the photos come in from last weekend’s Supernatural event, I was reminded of other high-profile snowboard events like Snowboarder Magazine’s annual Superpark event. This year will be the 16th, so stay tuned this spring to snowboardermag.com.
I was lucky to be a part of infamous number 13, when I was planning and executing Gatorade’s first-ever action sports sponsorship activation. This included pro skate events like the legendary Tampa Pro, grom-farming amateur events like the Free Flow Tour, as well one of the most progressive annual snowboard park events –Superpark.
Suparpark 13 went down at Mammoth Mountain in May, 2009, less than a month after we executed a similarly-awesome Women’s Superpark event at neighboring June Mountain. From the pre-planning brainstorms through the onsite banner-checks and break-down, working alongside other industry vetrans and the 250 invited riders and media was a blast to say the least. Rest assured we played as hard as we worked.
